 Adar Gandelsman was an Israeli model from Israel. She was the first runner-up in Miss Israel 2017, receiving the title of Miss Universe Israel, and was a contestant at the Miss Universe 2017 pageant. Adar participated in the Miss Universe 2017 pageant, but didn't place. Gandelsman, Miss Universe Iraq 2017 took a photo with Sarah Idan during the pageant. Idan along with her entire family fled Iraq in December 2017 after being slammed by Iraqi citizens over her photo with Miss Israel. Miss Israel is originally from Ashkelon in Israel and was born to Ashkenazi Jewish parents, who relocated to Israel in 1992 from Brazil.
