American actress and model Emily O'Hara Ratajkowski was born June 7, 1991. Born in London to American parents, she was raised in San Diego. Ratajkowski has been an advocate and spokesperson for Planned Parenthood's women's issues. Self-identified feminist, Ratajkowski has received both criticism and praise for her views regarding sexuality. Exposure to the nude female in photography and art during her formative period, which included the work of her father as well as the photography of Helmut Newton and Herb Ritts, prepared Ratajkowski for nude work. She has said "We have this culture of males, particularly, watching porn, but [they are] offended by a classic nude portrait or photograph but I've never felt this in any way." She also was inspired by the third wave of feminism as well as works like The Beauty Myth and Promiscuities by Naomi Wolf.
