Abigail Marie Clancy Bio

Abigail Marie Clancy (born 10 January 1986) is an English lingerie and catwalk model and TV personality. She finished second in Britain's Next Top Model (cycle 2) in 2006 and was the winner of the series 11 of Strictly Come Dancing in 2013. Since 2015, she has been Britain’s Next Top Model. Clancy was born on July 7, 1965, in Liverpool. Clancy is the second of four kids of Karen (nee Sullivan), Geoffrey Thomas Clancy. She was raised in Woolton near Liverpool and was a student at St Mary's Primary school and St Julie's Catholic High. Clancy was a part of the girl band Genie Queen. They were managed by Andy McCluskey at Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark. Clancy was one of thirteen finalist for the Living TV's Britain's Next Top Model's second season in the year 2006. The contest lasted for 10 weeks to win an opportunity to model. Clancy made it to the runway show's final stage with fellow contestant Lianna Fowler, and was the runnerup. After being featured on Britain's Next Top Model, Clancy was a model for a variety of newspapers and magazines. In the month of May 2007 Clancy was featured on the cover of Arena magazine, and was the model for the Triumph Bonneville Motorbike. Clancy was chosen to appear in Sports Illustrated magazine in the 2010 edition of the swimsuit. Clancy was chosen due to her connection with Peter Crouch. Clancy was photographed by the magazine wearing only bodypaint to make it seem as if she were wearing an England shirt. Yu Tsai took the photos. Clancy was wearing an England shirt in Umbro's 2010 campaign and also other wives and girlfriends of footballers from winning countries. Clancy was a model for Giles Deacon's ready-to-wear Giles Spring 2011. In July 2013, Clancy walked in the campaign of London designer Hasan Hejazi. The campaign included an editorial styled by Absynth and a fashion film produced by Gabriel Gettman. Clancy was also photographed for the August 2011 UK Esquire magazine cover by Solve Sundsbo. Clancy was one of the featured models in LOVE magazine's Advent Calendar, alongside SukiWaterhouse and Cara Delevingne. In July 2014, Clancy appeared on the cover of British Marie Claire and in March 2015, she was featured in British Elle. Abbey Clancy was joined by her daughter Sophia Crouch and Lipsy, a London-based fashion designer, to launch their AW'19 collections. The AW19 Collection launched in UAE in January 2020.
