His first content included "Let's Plays" and "videos that estimate the how much other YouTubers have." He gained fame in 2017 when his "Counting To 100,000" video racked up tens to thousands of views in just a few days. After his channel exploded, Donaldson hired several of his childhood friends to assist him in running the growing brand. MrBeast the main YouTube channel of Donaldson, a channel with over 100 million users was launched in 2022.
